CTE Programming Offered:
Students at Coolidge have the option to join one of four CTE pathways. In addition to project-based learning coursework and the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications, Coolidge Academy students will hear from guest speakers, participate in field trips to industry sites, and complete paid internships.

Audio/Video Production
The A/V Production pathway prepares students for visual imaging including television/video production, podcast, web design and music/audio recording. Students will learn the to use video cameras and edit video in Adobe Premiere Pro. Students learn to communicate effectively by writing scripts, storyboards, project planning, and introductory audio and visual editing.

Internship Opportunities: CNN, iHeartRadio, Accenture
Certifications: Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) – Premiere Pro

Energy & Natural Resource Technology
The Energy & Natural Resource Tech pathway looks at the link between environmental issues, green technology, and production agriculture. Students will learn how businesses use sustainable resources and technologies and measure the environmental impact of energy and natural resource production.

Certifications: Autodesk FUSION, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 Certification

Health Sciences
The Health Sciences pathway prepares students to pursue health-related degrees and professions in one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy. The program empowers students to build knowledge and skills in biomedical science, as well as skills such as problem solving, communication, collaboration, critical and creative thinking.

Internship Opportunities: Georgetown School of Medicine, NIH, Food & Drug Admin.
Certifications: CPR/First Aid, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC)
JROTC provides student the motivation and skills to think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, work as a team member, graduate from high school, pursue meaningful careers especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and become successful citizens. As a JROTC Cadet, students embark on one of the most interesting and valuable educational experiences of their high school career. The program provides students with tools and skills they need to succeed in high school and in life after high school.
